MeMeMe Cosmetics

Isn’t it great when a brand you have read about finally hits your shore !! I had read great deal about MeMeMe Cosmetics and was always keen to try them. So, when I got to try them, I jumped right away.

One item which intrigued me was the Shimmer Stack. I have used Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick and was keen to see if there was any difference.I got a chance to try Shimmer Stack in Pink.

One thing which I could see right away was absence of shimmer overload. And its a good thing. I always had a gripe with Bobbi Brown that the shimmer particles were real big and made my pores look huge. But, this has just the right amount giving a very soft glow, when swirled and applied. I just love the color( soft coral ) and it stays on for 2 – 3 hours. Even though the color fades the glow remains.

I also tried ‘Spirited’ from their Catwalk Nail Collection. Its a pastel peach and applies streak free, with a gloss finish. A perfect color for summer.

Price : The Shimmer Stack retails for $ 27.95 AUD
Nail paint is for $12.95 AUD
Availability: These are available online mememecosmetics

Smashbox Pose Blush

Pose Blush has been released on 24th October as part of The Girls On Film Collection.
Its described as ultra luxe long wearing blush to achieve cover worthy cheek bone with instant rush of color.
Packaging
It comes in smooth rubber packing( reminds me of NARS) with a clear lid and a swivel mirror. I personally think that all blushes should come with a mirror( hello MAC!!)

Color
Its a beautiful pink with enough warmth in it to be easily pulled of my warmer skin tones

Performance
Now, don’t let the color in pan fool you. Its a beautiful long lasting color and quite pigmented as well. One swipe is all you need to get the beautiful flush of color. I was apprehensive that it might not  show up on my NC42 skin but it was looked gorgeous on me.
The texture of the blush itself is very smooth.

It lasted over 4 hours for me.

What I like about it
  • Color. It’s something which will work across skin tones
  • The smooth texture of the blush just bowled me over.
  • Call me shallow, but I loved the swivel mirror.
What I don’t like: Nothing
Would I recommend it: Oh yes !!. If you haven’t started with Smashbox, then this is good place to start.
This collection also comes with
  • Silhouette Blush RRP $34.95 AUD
  • Lip Enhancing gloss in Overexposed, Underexposed RRP $26.95 AUD
  • Cream Eyeliner Brush Set in Blacklight and Sepia RRP $39.95 AUD
  • Photo Op Eye Palette in Softbox and Smokebox RRP $64.95AUD
Next on my lust list are the Smokebox and Sepia. I want them so much that I was at Kit Counter on 23rd October asking if they had any on floor to swatch if not buy. Yes, I want them this bad.

I love my blushes. I can’t have enough of them. In my recent Sephora haul, I bought Make Up Forever MicroFinish Quickie Blush ( #6).

What I like about it :
  • Packaging. Nice neat way to apply from a pump
  • Ease of application. All you need is clean fingers to apply this. At least that’s what I do.
  • Pigmentation. Little goes long way.
  • Color. Its a very pretty coral pink which is enough to freshen up any look.
What I didn’t like about it:
  • Amount of product in one pump is way too much for single application.

Would I recommend it : Yes

Thanks to Jess for introducing me to this beauty

My Zuneta Order

What is a better way to cheer up and de-stress than some online shopping ?? So, when Sarah from Dempeaux tweeted about free shipping from Zuneta, I quickly jumped on the site. Now,being in Australia means that some of the international brands are not available here and we are left out from all the fun. This was a good opportunity to take a dip and try some new brands.

With useful recs from ever helpful Sarah, I ordered following

  • Rouge Bunny Rouge For Love of Roses Original Skin Blush in Orpheline

  • Edward Bess Compact Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Island Rose

  • EOS Lipbalm
  • Rosebud Salve

I will try to do a post as I use them.

A note on the Zuneta service…they are awesome…I had placed my order on 27th August and received the package on 07th September. It was neatly packed with a sample of Rahua Hair Conditioner.

Did you get something from Zuneta ??

Swatch : Lancome Mercier Blush Subtil Rose Sable 02

Lancome Mercier Blush Subtil Rose Sable 02 was another star in my Strawberrynet haul.

Its a very nice dusty rose color which would suit olive complexion alot. Its a powder blush with loads of pigmentation and very easy to blend.

I will try to incorporate this in one of my looks and do a post again

Swatch : YSL Creme De Blush

YSL Creme De Blush has been released as part of YSL Spring 2011 collection. I bought the number 2. This shade is a very soft pink adding just the right amount of flush to the cheek

This Apple is good

MAC blush Bite Of An Apple was released as part of Venomous Villains Collections. I had seen the swatch first at Temptlia and fell in love right away

Packaging :
As part of Disney collection the packaging has characters from the Disney Villains. This blush has the wicked queen from Snow White
She certainly looks to be having some villiany on her mind

Colour :

Bright coral pink. It works well even with warmer tones

Texture :
Matte powder

What I like
-> The fact that colour is bright without being scary.
-> I can use it to look healthy and happy on days when i feel “I don’t care whats happening around me or about anything”
-> It’s easy to blend
-> Not much product is to be used to get the desire effect. Colour payoff is great

What I don’t like
Nothing so far

My Two pence:

If you looking for a bright matte blush, this is a good pick without looking like a clown. Just a swirl of brush and sweep on cheek.. U are done !!!!

Pump up the Stereo…..Rose

Yes..yes…I know every one in blogworld is talking about this beauty…and I also had to give in my 2 cents…
You ask why…cause I just love it.

When this was released in US and I read the hype, I initially thought…naah this must again be one of those overhyped product. I was not even sure that I would be picking it up when it was launched here.

Now, last week when I was in NZ, I just walked to the MAC…and lo and behold they had the MAC In The Groove collection….How could I have walked past without swatching the ‘STEREO ROSE’. So, I walked in, swatched on my arm…and it was an instant love.

Colour

Very subtle coral pink colour

What I loved about it

-> The glitter particles aren’t too chunky
-> There is not much fall off
-> It doesn’t look powdery
-> Staying power is great
-> Gives the much after glowy cheek
-> And the best of all….just the right amount of color

What I don’t love about it

-> That its a LE item 😦

How I apply it

Just tap my blush brush on it and apply on my cheekbone

I loved it so much that I bought a backup as soon as I reached home.

And now to the Stereo Rose on yours truly
