Savvy Orange Envy

One of the many reasons that I have countless nail paints is that if I see someone wearing a color, I try my best to get its closest match. So, I wasn’t surprised when I saw someone wearing a bright neon orange nail paint and the little voice in my head said “pretty !! you don’t have this color. Your mission is to find it’s match, should you accept”

My first stop was Priceline and I wasn’t disappointed in my search. There in the bargain bin was the color I was looking for, Savvy Orange Envy. Its a bright neon orange color without any shimmer. A perfect spring/summer color. Consistency wise its runny but doesn’t streak and needs only 2 coats to achieve opacity.

I would say for $3 its a great find. Have you tried any of the Savvy nail paints ? Do you also buy nail paints when you see some one wearing it ??

Sleek Storm Palette

Sleek eyeshadow palette in ‘Storm’ is a beautiful mix of neutral and dark intense shades. A palette which you can carry when on holidays and it will cover your daytime to night time eye look. I had been lusting after it for long time and then I finally picked it from Crush Cosmetics

Quality wise they are great. There is minimum fall out and they last without creassing when used with primer.
I think what makes this palette a winner is the combination of shades and texture. There is matte shades for buffing and intense colours for giving the edge to an otherwise simple eye look. I think the most unique shade in the palette is the steel grey, 2nd from left in bottom row.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

****
I had written the below post couple of months ago and it was sitting in draft waiting for the pictures. Being the lazy person that I am, I managed to do it only recently. The delay explains the tense in the post. Also, even after such a long time, I still stand by every single word.
****

Rimmel London website describes the product as

Rimmel’s first liquid foundation that instantly reawakens skin with a healthy, radiant glow.

It’s time to wake up – the light, smooth texture glides on easily to give a 100% pore-less and flawless complexion. Spoil yourself with SPF 15 sun protection and illuminating radiance pearls for a natural glow. A peptide formulation helps increase your skin’s elasticity and a vitamin moisturizing complex also leaves you looking healthy and fresh. Your skin will bounce back to life – even if your body is thinking otherwise.

No longer do you have to face fatigue in the mirror.  Immediately eliminates visible signs of tiredness so skin looks rejuvenated”

I have recently started working full time, which involves getting up before sunrise, travelling an hour to & fro and taking care of the little one. This means, my days are pretty full on and I am feeling/looking tired most of the time. I was eyeing this foundation for sometime but apprehensive since I didn’t want to look like a glitter ball ( a fear from my experience with Revlon Photoready). This is when Val from Ponikuta.com assured me that its definitely not going to make me like a disco ball.

Before I start with my experience, let me get the only con I have ,off my chest – its the limited shade selection available. With only 6 shades, it makes very hard to get the right one

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

I wanted to try this so bad that I picked ‘Soft Beige’ which wasn’t my shade but closest to me. I use it mixing with Illamasqua Skin Base and then the shade is perfect. Now, after using it for over 15 days straight I can say that Rimmel’s claim about ‘waking up and making me look healthy and fresh’ is spot on. I have no idea, how it works but it surely does work. I don’t look tired and haggard when I see myself in the mirror. And believe me , for me its a big thumbs up.

It works great on my dry skin and stays put for good 6-7 hours. Coverage wise its light to medium

I quite like it and would definitely recommend it.

Introduction to Drugstore Gems Series

I have been using makeup for quite sometime now and having buying both from drugstore and department store. Being a beauty blogger means there is always something new which gets my attention and like bee I hop from one product to another.

Inspite of this frequent hopping, few products standout in their performance which make me go back to them.

And its not just Deparment Store/Boutique products but some of the star perfomers/gems are from drugstore.
In coming weeks I will be having a series of posts discussing the various drugstore gems I have in my
repertoire.

Stay tuned !!
